I don’t really claim to be a great reader or have literary prowess. I do read farce or satires, even comic books for kids sometimes. The fact really fascinates me that these books are not written by kids but by adults more mature than an average adult. They do inspire the spark of creativity in kids and in me. I am just beginning to read this Harry Potter book now (no emoticon for a bad hair day, Aunt Petunia wouldn’t like it!) and I am loving it!
It seems that Harry would never want to like summer holidays, a highly unusual boy. The truth of the matter is he wanted to do his homework but was forced to do in secret, in the dead of night. And he also happened to be a wizard! Now Muggles like Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon had a very medieval attitude towards magic. They had hoped that if they kept Harry as downtrodden as possible, they would be able to squash the magic out of him. But unfortunately, they had been unsuccessful, enough to enrage them and now they lived in terror of anyone finding out that Harry had spent most of the last two years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So, the most they could do was to lock away Harry’s spellbooks, wand, cauldron and broomstick at the start of the summer holidays, and forbid to talk to the neighbours..as if he wanted to..
” It is important to remember that we all have magic inside us.”J. K. Rowling
Now, will Harry be able to do his homework? Well, while Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and Dudley had gone out into the front garden to admire Uncle Vernon’s new company car (in very loud voice, so that the rest of the street would notice it too), Harry….
Please share your view if you loved Harry Potter, I am eager to hear from you. Abracadabra..
