you may never know

Yesterday I chanced across an unlooked-for benison when my eyes fell upon you…

Lounging on the grassy riverbank with your back propped against the Kadamb tree

Your long wispy hair waving and flapping in the soft warm breeze

Your large hazel eyes, quiet yet so deep gazing at the sunset

Your lips fluttered spasmodically as if mumbling the hymns of Rigveda

In a soft reddish attire, you appeared to be a blooming lotus

Tall, proud, aloof and delighted at your own allure and fragrance

You may never know what you invoke in a man

What you are capable of doing with these subtle nuances, merely with a cursory glance

How you make their brests pant and quicken their pulse

With felicitous phrases, well-timed gaps and pauses

You may make any heart burst into song, even a hermit hoof and guffaw

You may never know…… .

A tinge of joy colours her world and lays its feet on the land where revellers are awaiting her to get into the groove.
