fragrant breeze

Drops of dew glinted
The sun glanced off the trees
Sweet morning hymns
Roses waved with fragrant breeze
Crooning songs of gratitude

This Tanka goes to Frank Tassone’s #Haikai Challenge #139 (5/17/20): fragrant breeze (kunpuu) #haiku #senryu #haibun #tanka #haiga #renga weekly . Thanks, Eugenia and Jazzytower for sharing a beautiful Tanka and inspiring me! ❤️

Smita Ray is the mother of two lovely kids and hails from northeastern India. Her perpetual displeasure arising from the hypocrisy in the society underneath the semblance of religion, culture as well as the conditioning for compliance urged her to put down the impressions in her mind. In her spare time, she likes to have some culinary adventures along with her kids trying new recipes or crafting. She describes herself as -- a soulmate, a life alighted on the earth catching the rhythm passing by her. A tinge of joy colours her world and lays its feet on the land where revellers are awaiting her to get into the groove.

  1. Your Tanka is lovely, my friend. However, this is not my challenge and the credit goes to Frank Tassone’s #Haikai Challenge #139 (5/17/20): fragrant breeze (kunpuu) #haiku #senryu #haibun #tanka #haiga #renga.

My poem, Sweetness in the air, was written in response to Frank Tassone’s challenge. Jazzytower’s poem was written in response to Frank Tassone’s Challenge and my challenge – https://amanpan.com/2020/05/18/eugis-weekly-prompt-cherish-may-18-2020/

It can be confusing since many of us combine more than one challenge in our post. 😉

    1. Thanks for letting me know and sharing such a lovely poem for good measure, Eugenia. It’s nothing less than a sweet source of inspiration for me and many others despite my confusion. 🙂
